The Charlatan's Boy

The Charlatan's Boy by Jonathan Rogers

This is an incredible story of a young man named Grady, But is that who he really is? Grady is told that he is a HE-Feechie from the swamp. Floyd his keeper has told him a few times that his own mama gave him to Floyd because he was just to ugly to keep. Grady is a rather sad looking young man and even Grady knows this. He travels around the country with Floyd pretending to be a "Wild Man of Feechiefen Swamp. Floyd is a liar and a cheat and uses the boy to make a quick copper. Grady is at the will of Floyd and goes along with the scam all over the Corenwald frontier until Grady makes a discovery. It is a most touching story but to tell you about the ending would give it away. I would and have recommended this book to everyone young and old. It's a YA book but it has so much more feeling than the adult literature, I find I read dozens of YA books a month and have loved every book that I have read. Grab this book, and a cozy place to read and you might want to bring provisions your going to be there for a while. It's really that good.  You won't be sorry to have picked up this book but sorry to put it down.
