Waiting Once Again

Well I am sitting here waiting for my new book for review. I guess I read fast, it seems I just get a book and it is already time to request a new one.  Life is really hectic and we are in the process of Moving haha just don't know where and we have 7 days to do it. The new owner wants the house by Feb 1. Should be a law about that. They only gave us 30 days and no written notice to vacate. If any bloggers know of any laws that would help me I would need it by 12 tomorrow. Short notice I know but its seems how I work. Hope you all can leave some comments about my blog or my reviews that can help me be better. All Critics are welcome as it will help me grow as a blogger. Thanks for Visiting the Page Gobbler

From the Publisher

Love is a choice you make every day.

Content in her comfortable marriage of twenty-two years, Jane Lindsay had never expected to watch her husband, Brad, pack his belongings and walk out the door of their Manhattan home. But when it happens, she feels powerless to stop him and the course of events that follow Brads departure.Jane finds an old ring in a box of relics from a British jumble sale and discovers a Latin inscription in the band along with just one recognizable word: Jane. Feeling an instant connection to the mysterious ring bearing her namesake, Jane begins a journey to learn more about the ring—and perhaps about herself.~In the sixteenth-century, Lucy Day becomes the dressmaker to Lady Jane Grey, an innocent young woman whose fate seems to be controlled by a dangerous political and religious climate, one threatening to deny her true love and pursuit of her own interests. As the stories of both Jane's dovetail through the journey of one ring, it becomes clear that each woman has far more influence over her life than she once imagined. It all comes down to the choices each makes despite the realities they face.

My View,

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I found it truly amazing. Susan Meissner is a brilliant writer who kept me curious from the first chapter. I am very busy throughout the day with a hectic life and a very busy schedule but I still found time to pick up this book and read a few pages here and there, and looked for any spare minute to read some more. Susan's books are a delight to read. I don't normally read Christian books but being this was the first and she has set me on a path that makes this book not the last. Thanks Susan.

Lady In Waiting by Susan Meissner is a unique historical novel of the lives of two women who lived hundreds of years apart. Susan Meissner entwines the stories of Jane Lindsay, who resides in the present, and Lady Jane Grey, who lived in the 1500′s. The stories beautifully flow from one period to another. As Jane Lindsey searches to find the mystery of the beautiful antique ring, she discovers more about herself.

Jane comes across a very old box and buys the box of antiques from a British jumble sale. Inside the box she finds a very old prayer book and a lovely ring hidden away inside. It seems very strange to her that her name engraved inside the band. "Vulnerasti cor meum, soror mea, sponsa." Jane. She begins to track down the history of the ring, and in the process she will learn something about herself. The book takes her on a journey back to the past as she discovers Lucy, a seamstress for Lady Jane Grey, and relates how she came to work for Lady Jane and became a confidante to her.

The ring ties both stories together with a inscription that Jane only finds meaning to one word....Jane

Although this was a really good book I had a difficult time reading the portions of Lucy's story that included the various people of 16th century British nobility that I had to keep straight in my head. I couldn't follow who was who with titles of dukes, duchess, and so on.   I had no clue of who was who. It's really hard to keep strait when one jumps around. Maybe its just my brain that jumps around. But the story is good.

The story really picked up pace for me about half of the way in with Lady Jane's life. I also think its because I was able to sit and read for a while. History not being one of my subjects, I had no Idea of the story of Lady Jane. It drew me in and kept me till the very end.

Meissner has written this well, and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of her books and anyone who is intrigued by British history.

Waiting for my new Book to Review

I usually read YA books but will read most anything. Christmas went ok, my daughter moved without so much as a word. Somehow that doesn't surprise me. And I can't wait to get my new Book I have coming for review. Love to hear what kind of Ideas for books you might have. I would love to get feed back from anyone and everyone.
